FACILITIES AND AMENITIES

The Loft is 2-bedroom self-catering holiday apartment with private garden and view - which sits over our four berth (quiet – used for storage) detached garage across the driveway from the main house.

​

Work has just recently been completed so everything is shiny, new and up to current environmental and comfort standards so we hope you’ll agree it is a lovely space to relax. Super-insulated, you’ll be cosy with just a few logs glowing in the eco-friendly log burner on chilly winter nights.

​

The loft is accessed via its own private parking space. From there, you climb 10 steps up to the private garden, and a further 10 up to the balcony area which leads into the kitchen.

​

The Loft is stylishly decorated and offers, fun, cosiness and comfort. We have planned the space and decoration carefully to maximise your enjoyment. With a versatile, open plan living room, dining room and kitchen area. A well-appointed modern kitchen with oven, hob, dishwasher, toaster, kettle, washing machine, fridge-freezer, leading onto the living space with log burning stove, super comfy sofa, Smart TV with streaming services and broadband, a DAB Bluetooth radio, and next to that a dining table and chairs. The kitchen leads out onto a balcony, above a handy, storage area for bikes/buggies etc… and of course your private lawned garden.

The Loft has two 2 bedrooms and sleeps 4 people comfortably. The two bedrooms are almost of equal size with one offering a king size bed and the other two singles, which we can be joined together, creating a super-king sized bed for cosy nights if you are two couples. We also have a sofa bed to accommodate up to two ‘sofa surfers’ for overnight visitors who may choose to pop by (please arrange this with us via the mini-shop and we can provide linen).

The swish shower room contains a roomy, powerful shower fed by a hight mains-pressure eco-boiler, running on 100% renewable energy with decorative tiles and thoughtful touches.

​

Most mobile networks (except O2 currently) get a pretty good 4G reception, and broadband allows online calls if your signal is weak.

Floors (and some of the walls) throughout are real oak and give the place a cosy hygge feel. Please do use our boot trunk for muddy wellingtons, beach gear and other mucky stuff.

​

Last, but not least, the private garden oasis including barbecue area, lawn, pots and fully functional ‘fort’ / sun terrace for either pretending to be local pirates (kids or adults), or settling in for a peaceful evening with a bottle of something well deserved (adults).

You will also have the run of the rest of the grounds. We do keep the main house front garden and outbuildings private for ourselves, but the rest  of the 8 acres you can enjoy [at your own risk] to your hearts content. There are various woodlands, a stream, a small lake and a meadow, which are the perfect playground for all ages to re-kindle your love of nature. It’s a bit wild (not up to National Trust standards yet) but it’s gorgeous and our nature loves it that way. Certainly plenty to explore, and if you're quiet, you will experience the large variety of wildlife that call our paradise their home. Deer, badgers, foxes, rabbits, frogs, toads, newts, various species of bat, and an amazing array of bird-life including tree creepers, goldcrests, owls (Tawny and Long-Eared), buzzards, kingfishers, herons, moorhens, ducks, nuthatches and all the usual suspects…the list goes on and on….

​

Bring shoes and clothes that you don’t mind getting mucky, and feel free to bring camping equipment too if you or the kids fancy a night under the stars in the safety of the grounds (with all your facilities to hand back at headquarters of course!). We have the highest Dark-Skies rating so gaze upwards on a clear night and watch it all going on above…

Woodburning stove heats the whole place, supply of logs firelighters, matches provided (extra logs available if needed from the shop £0),.
Back-up Electric Heating (you probably won't need this even in winter) please be mindful this is very expensive and energy intensive to run. Do not leave on when you go out.

Accessibility

Unfortunately, due to the location and situation, The Loft cannot provide any disabled access, and 20 steps up are required from parking area to accommodation. Fire Exit is also via 15 steps to ground level.

 

Extra Services

Audited Honesty Mini Shop. Provides backup for basic/often forgotten, goods including things e.g. Toothbrushes, Toothpaste, Butter, Wine,  Beer & Snacks  etc. etc. (let us know if you use and we'll replenish as quickly as we can – nothing worse than running out of white on a summers evening after a day on the beach!)
